about
Halls of Ancients - When it's all said and done. When there is no one left to love you
Halls of Ancients is a mix of groovy and Melodic Death Metal as in Soilwork meets Hypocrisy and old In Flames. The melodic verse has been with me for quite a number of years, influenced by the Inspector Gadget theme with a Soilwork touch to it.
While the pre-chorus is the result of excessively listening to Megadeth, it is rooted in the central idea of how I wanted our songs to be experienced in a live setting: when I saw In Flames live a long time ago, they really got the audience going - I wanted to recreate that feel and get that vibe and experience for us as well! - Johan
lyrics
HALLS OF ANCIENTS
In the halls of ancients
I stand before you all
Stripped of all possessions
Embarking into the unknown
With a worm eaten gut
And palms made of iron
With bloodstained knees, I'm tired and diseased
Look at what I've achieved
My lifelong dream, ravaged and deceived
Finally, I'm fading out deeper down
O heavenly Father
Did you ever, notice me
I feel light as a feather
As I journey on through
The soothing waters of the river
I served in gratitude
What will be left of me
But a fading voice
As it echoes into nothing
O heavenly Father
Who art in heaven
Did you ever, notice me
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth, as in heaven
In the halls of ancients
I stand before you all
Stripped of all possessions
Embarking into the unknown
I feel light as a feather
As I journey on through
The soothing waters of the river
I served in gratitude
When it's all said and done
When there is no one left to love you
When it's all said and done
When there is no one left to love you
Tell me was it all worth it, at what price
Was it all just lies
Give us this day
Our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
O heavenly Father
Who art in heaven
Did you ever, notice me
In the halls of ancients
I stand before you all
Stripped of all possessions
Embarking into the unknown
I feel light as a feather
As I journey on through
The soothing waters of the river
I served in gratitude

I really cant pick a favorite track, this whole album kicks so much ass with its intensity and ferocity from beginning to end. Definitely a new favorite artist. Really gives off Necrophobic vibes with the melodies and atmosphere. Andrés Salas
